The Beavers, local councilors and Mrs. Holland with some children from Lees Primary School were amongst the people who joined the congregations of both St James’ and Lees Methodist Churches for the Remembrance Service on Sunday. The Beavers presented their flags at the beginning of the service and later “helped” Revd. Julie, (as part of her sermon). . Wreathes were laid at the memorial in church as two minutes silence was observed. The collection of £90 was sent to “Help the Heroes”.
The congregation then went to the Memorial in the park for and equally moving ceremony at 11am.
Thank you to all who organized this morning, to the congregation for their generosity and most importantly to all who are remembered that morning, those who gave their lives for a greater good.
