Announcing Sunday worship again at 9.30 a.m. on 13 September (Communion), 27th October (Monring Worship) and 11th October (Harvest Celebration). Mid-week worship continues every Wednesday (Communion). We puzzle away at how to relaunch Toddler Parise and Friday Church

Our temporary plan for worship
at St Gabriel’s, St James’ and St Michael’s
during September and early October 2020

1. We will provide a fresh Sunday Worship video each week in partnership with West Lane Baptist Church, as we have been doing for many months for several hundred different people

This is accessible from the front page of our churches’ websites by a single click, and the audio of the most recent service is accessible by a normal rate phone call 01535 286387. Our on-line ‘Breathing Space’ prayer group continues and our Brontë Virtual Church blog continues a bit, but not on-line mid-week reflection or young people ‘Active Zone’.

2. We will provide a Communion Service for small congregations prayerfully and Covid-safely in each church each week as we have been doing for several weeks for fifty-five different people, although we will no longer do so on a Monday evening when few have been coming.

Sundays 3.30 pm St Gabriel’s, Stanbury
Wednesdays 10.30 am St James’, Cross Roads
Fridays 12.30 pm St Michael’s, Haworth

3. We will explore for six weeks providing a Sunday morning service, Covid-safely and with at least some music – and learn how best to run each of three types of service, how well these go, how many wish to come, and what we can then develop next as (we hope) restrictions are gradually lifted.

6 Sept 11.00 am St Michael’s Morning Worship
13 Sept 9.30 am St James’ Communion
20 Sept 11.00 am St Michael’s All Age Michaelmas celebration
27 Sept 9.30 am St James’ Morning Worship
4 Oct 11.00 am St Michael’s Communion *
11 Oct 9.30 am St James’ All Age Harvest celebration

We would like to have included St Gabriel’s, but the maximum Covid-safe capacity there is only fifteen people, and Communion is being celebrated there each Sunday afternoon at present. Perhaps a shift back to 9.30 am services with music will become possible there soon.

Our All Age celebrations will obviously have to be much less interactive than in the past, but we will see what we can manage.

* On 4 October, the Revd Anthony Bennett will be presiding at Communion for the first time (his ordination as priest will be live-streamed from Bradford Cathedral at 4.00 pm the previous day).
