Well, it is my last newsletter entry and the interregnum is nearly over. Fortunately you will have a letter from our new rector Reverend Peter Mullins to look forward to next month. Hopefully we are all very thankful to God for the appointment being such a quick one. We are very blessed to have someone; many churches are and have been without a permanent priest for such a long time and don’t appear to have a prospect of one soon. Let us keep Oxenhope in our prayers as they continue to pray for the right person to come along.
June looks to be a very busy month not least with Reverend Peter Mullins arriving and welcomed here on the 28 June at 7.30pm at St James’ Church, please do come along and give a great welcome to both Peter and Deborah to our benefice. His first service will be preaching at St James’ Church on the 2 July and then preaching at St Gabriel and St Michael and All Angles on the 9 July. We have a Confirmation Service on the 4 June at St Michaels and Bishop Colin Buchanan will be officiating at the service. My current training incumbent Reverend Jonathan Pritchard is preaching at the 18 June service along with me, so hopefully we will all have many blessings in the services this month.
June will begin with Pentecost, so let us all pray for a heart that will be open to a fresh moving of God’s spirit and commit ourselves afresh to the road God has prepared for all of us, as we eagerly await God’s purposes and vision for the future with our new Rector in the years to come.
