As we had hoped this “get-together” was a gathering of friends and people in the community, enjoying each other’s company and celebrating many of the things that we have in common. It was deliberately extended to enable anyone who had been to the “Community Chest” meeting to come once that had finished so it was slightly longer that our usual events. It was very well supported with a mix of regulars and people who had not been before.

There was also a very good selection of cakes – a lot of people had been baking and there were even some sandwiches.

Payment was voluntary, by donation, and people were very generous. This will help St James’ to keep up its work and organize many more events, and a donation was also sent to the Jo Cox Foundation.
